چکیده

One of the common architectures that are used in high-speed photonic and electronic switching networks is the log d (N,m, p) switching network [1,2]. In this paper we consider a special case of such network, log d (N, 0, p) network. Usually, the architecture is accompanied with the control algorithm that works online, i.e. after arrival of a connection request, a path through the network is assigned that connects the input and output of the new connection [3,4]. A switching network is wide sense nonblocking (WSNB) if a new call is always routable as long as all previous requests were routed according to a given routing algorithm [5]. WSNB switching networks were first introduced by Beneš [6] for symmetric 3−stage Clos network. He proved that C(n,m, 2) is WSNB if and only if m ≥ ⌊

Wide-Sense Nonblocking Multiplane Baseline Switching Networks Composed of d d Switches

A new control algorithm for log2(N, 0, p) switching networks composed of 2 × 2 switching elements has been proposed recently. Under this algorithm, log2(N, 0, p) switching networks with even number of stages are wide-sense nonblocking (WSNB) if p is the same as for the rearrangeable nonblocking (RNB) one. In this paper we extend this solution to logd(N, 0, p) switching networks. The control alg...

Wide-sense nonblocking for multi-logdN networks under various routing strategies

Chang et al. showed that the number of middle switches required forWSNB under strategies: save the unused, packing, minimum index, cyclic dynamic, and cyclic static, for the 3-stage Clos network C(n,m, r) with r 3 is the same as required for SNB. In this paper, we prove the same conclusion for the multi-logd N network. We also extend our results, except for the minimum index strategy, to a gene...

Wide-Sense Nonblocking Clos Networks under Packing Strategy

In this paper, we study wide-sense nonblocking conditions under packing strategy for the three-stage Clos network, or v(m;n; r) network. Wide-sense nonblocking networks are generally believed to have lower network cost than strictly nonblocking networks. However, the analysis for the wide-sense nonblocking conditions is usually more difficult. Moore[2] proved that a v(m;n; 2) network is nonbloc...

Wide-Sense Nonblocking Networks

A new method for constructing wide-sense nonblocking networks is presented. Application of this method yields (among other things) wide-sense nonblocking generalized connectors with n inputs and outputs and size O(n log n), and with depth k and size O(n+ /k(Iog n)/k). Key words, nonblocking network, connection network, concentrator, generalizer AMS(MOS) subject classifications. 94C 15, 68E 10, ...

Wide-sense and strict-sense nonblocking operation of multicast multi-log2 n switching networks

Multicast connections are used in broad-band switching networks as well as in parallel processing. We consider wide-sense and strict-sense nonblocking conditions for multi-log 2 switching networks with multicast connections in this paper. We prove that such networks are wide-sense nonblocking if they are design by vertically stacking at least 2 1 + 2 2 1 planes of a log 2 networks together, whe...
